Born in a rural village in post-war Central Vietnam, Anthony’s journey is a testament to resilience and a relentless thirst for learning. After graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering and earning a Master’s in Project Management, he spent nearly a decade working for an American company.
It was during this time that he witnessed a great paradox firsthand: thousands of talented engineers in his homeland were facing unemployment, while companies in the US were struggling with a talent shortage. This concern for the “pain points” of both markets drove him to act. He didn’t just see a business opportunity; he saw a mission.

From Passion and Knowledge to Leadership

Anthony Nguyen, the founder and CEO of AXA Engineers, is not a stranger in the world of civil engineering outsourcing. Born in a small village in post-war Vietnam, Anthony’s journey to success is a testament to his resilience and determination. From a young age, he harbored a dream to contribute to the construction of projects that would benefit his community and homeland.

Anthony graduated from Da Nang University of Technology with a degree in Civil Engineering and later earned a Master’s degree in Project Management from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT). After defending his thesis with excellence, Anthony was invited by the university to teach several project management classes. During his academic and teaching career there, Anthony authored numerous research papers published in local Construction Journals and prestigious international journals such as the International Journal of Project Management and the 2016 Annual Conference of the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society (NAFIPS). These publications underscore his deep understanding and expertise in construction and project management.

With over 8 years of experience working for an American company, Anthony recognized the potential and talent of Vietnamese engineers when given the right training and environment to thrive. This realization fueled his desire to create more job opportunities for local engineers, allowing them to showcase their abilities on an international stage.

 

From an Aspiration to a Philosophy

In 2016, AXA Engineers was born with the aspiration of building a bridge to connect the potential of Vietnamese engineers with the needs of the global market. But Anthony soon realized that to build a sustainable bridge, it couldn’t be based on processes alone; it had to be built on a stronger foundation: People.
He architected the “Happy Business Model”—a philosophy that went against the grain of the outsourcing industry. Instead of focusing on maximizing short-term profits, he focused on building an environment where every individual felt valued, heard, and empowered to “thrive.” This philosophy evolved into the ATED (AXA Engineers Total Employee Development) program and became the soul of our slogan:
